Trade mission to Sicily

Sicindustria represents the interests of over 1500 affiliated Sicilian companies across various sectors, offering an extensive array of services to both small and large enterprises. Since 2008, Sicindustria has been a partner of the Enterprise Europe Network. Their Internationalization department plays a pivotal role in supporting regional businesses, providing tailored services to SMEs for their internationalization process, from identifying international potential to market strategy development, cultural understanding, workshops, seminars, participation in fairs, missions abroad, and more.

Exploring local retail businesses proved particularly intriguing and valuable during the mission. It was fascinating to discover that Montessori teaching methods are also popular in Sicily—Montessori centers are well-received, and parents strive to create a Montessori atmosphere at home for their children.

The Trade Mission witnessed the participation of Latvia’s Ambassador to Italy, Solvita Āboltiņa, alongside Sicily’s Mayor or political leadership. Potential buyers, company representatives, and businesses offering various services were actively engaged throughout the project’s activities, fostering productive work and mutually intriguing meetings.

Participants had significant opportunities to acquire numerous potential partnership contacts. Post-mission discussions with companies resulted in positive feedback, as valuable insights about the Sicilian market were gained, along with the acquisition of potential collaboration contacts. The Export Promotion Department of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia expressed gratitude to Sicindustria and the LIAA EEN team for their invaluable support throughout the mission.
