First steps. A whole new view of home.

Put one choice within reach
A couple of books with their covers facing out. Paper and a chunky crayon suitable for their age. A clear place to put them back. Keep it simple enough for your child to see what’s there and choose for themselves.
Watch before you add
Do they keep carrying things from one place to another? Offer a small basket. Do they return to the same book? Leave it where they can find it. Their repeated little actions can give you better ideas than a shopping list.
Let tomorrow begin where today ended
That scribble may still need another mark. Leave space for something unfinished, so your child can come back to it. A little corner feels like theirs when their choices are still there the next morning.
Try this today: Get down to your child’s eye level. What can they see, reach and use without asking you? Make one small change that lets them do a little more themselves.
